Where is the Stocks in this photo???

The stocks were in front of the ornate lamp - behind the railings. I've a Walking Day pic dated 1911 with 'Spite Row' in the background. No railings are visible in front of the houses. So I reckon this is post that date, probably just pre-WW1.

Thanks to a conversation with Keith today, I now know that the row behind the cross was then also known as Market Place - rather than Market Street as now. The blind on the shop says A Allen - Amos Allen - who lost a son of the same name in WW1 - he is commemorated in the Peace Gate and on the village Cenotaph.

Amos Allen was my 1st cousin 3 times removed.
