This appears to be a post card with the inscrption "Wigan Pier".
The pier was actually on the other bank of the canal.

The boat is Netta, one of the two electric waterbuses, moored outside The Way We Were Museum, Trencherfield mill is in the back ground, and the Pier is on the opposite bank behind Netta. Lee Ellis
