I worked in that place right up until it's closure in 1985. Very sad to see it go.

It closed on a Friday, in March 1985. I took a day's leave on that day just to get a last couple of pints of Draught Bass in there.
Ah! My favourite pub of all time! I practically lived in the "Farmer's" lounge . . . back booth to the left of the fire as you looked in . . . got "engaged" to a barmaid once by popping a sodden bear mat over her finger 'cos she used to serve my beer so beautifully . . . was that you Carol? :)
