Soldiers, evidently on a halt on route march, outside Britannia Inn, Hall Green, UpHolland.
Evidently WWI, given the soldier's kit - puttees etc. Possibly Wigan Territorials?

Ooops ... Sorry about the mistake ... I've titled the photo 'Old Dog Inn' when it's actually outside the Britannia Inn as I've correctly stated in the caption.
It would be good if we new some of the names in the photo though I think this will now be just part of the history. I would like to think one of my Uncles who I never new Mr H Alker was in this photo. He never came back like so many others, I under stand he was taken prisoner of war and died in a German prison. Still have three of his Medals 24661 PTE. H. Alker L'pool R.
