KEN IN TORONTO DO YOU KNOW THIS ONE

Based on the map of Scholes pubs on Wiganworld and census records, the Kings Arms is on the left and the Shamrock on the right on the corner of Wellington Street. The empty plot was presumably the site of the Angel also on the corner of Wellington Street

Between Scholes lights and Greenouh St., lights the Puliic House's were left hand side The Bluebell, The Kings Arms, Crown and Septre, The White Swan, The Black Swan, The Windmill. The left hand side The Fleece , The Angel The Shamrock, The Conservateive Club( this is the one most people forget) The Harp The Rose and Crown. There was also eight butcher's, seven grocer's two fishmonger's.a Chinese laundery,two fish and chip shops , cinema and numerous other business , on this small piece of land. Amazing.

Re ., the above the pulic house' s starting with The Fleece are of course on the right. Only just getting used to this contraption . Guess what I got for Chrirstmas! .
