HAS THIS PLACE CHANGED AT ALL
THE NAME OF THE PUB IS NOW CALLED THE
DOVER LOCK INN & BEFORE THE RED LION IT WAS THE
WHITE LION

Its changed a great deal, it was rebuilt on the other side of the bridge.

The photo is taken looking from Leigh, the locks under the bridge were all on the Abram side, the tow path is not there now it was moved when they altered the road

great photo Mark,i remember the locks ,my uncle Walter (gorrie)climbed down and rescued a dog when he was taking me for a walk

The Bridge is now red brick but here it looks like large stone. Along the top has also changed where the men are standing as it is part brick, part Iron. Looking from this angle The pub was the Red Lion but coming from the other direction (Abram) its says Dover Lock on the side. Great Pic though
