From the Manchester evening news
A ‘forgotten piece of history’ in Wigan has been unearthed during renovation works of Haigh Hall.
The stone slab is said to depict Wigan’s Moot Hall which is mentioned in documents dating back to 1422, it has been claimed. Brian Muscroft, a volunteer at Haigh Hall, found the artifact in the grounds of Bothy Yard which is part of the multi-million pound renovation of the historical site.

It wasn't lost to be found. It was in the yard inside a wrought iron fence with a big stone sundial and a couple of chunks of petrified tree.
I sent in a photo to Pad when it was relocated but it never appeared.

It’s beyond belief that things like this go missing and only found years and years later. Ridiculous. I wonder what else will turn up in the future.

It didn't go missing Veebs it was mounted behind a wrought iron fence in the stable yard along with a big stone sundial and two chunks of petrified trees.
They moved them so the cafes could get more customers seated, Ive already mentioned that I sent in a photo of the objects in their new location last year but it never got accepted for Pad

The concrete bucket planter is in a flower bed on the toilet side of the stable block, not this one.

so Mick I shall ask this only once, with it being placed there is it now being used as a vespasienne, to use a politer term.

This stone slab could be the headstone for the ‘death’ of Wigan . It needs to be put back in the Market Place. In loving memory of what was…!
