VIEW OF THE FAIR. WITH BOTH LEWIS'S AND CASINELLIS ICE CREAM VANS IT APPEARS THEY ARE BUILDING ANOTHER STORY, TO THE SOON TO BE DEMOLISHED JOHN McCURDY BUILDING. NOW WIGAN TECHNICAL COLLEGE. I THINK THIS WAS DONE IN THE 1970'S?

Wigan fair didn't make it into the 1970s Ron.
I think the last one on the Market Square was either 1967 or 1968.

I think the fun fair stopped in the the late 60s, the pot fair carried on for longer.

I’d say the vehicles and clothing being worn by people in this photograph suggest this was taken in the 1960s not the 70s.
