Isn’t it Prescott Lane?
The cottage has an interesting wall in front of it. Weirdly the only place in the UK where I've seen lots of walling done like this is in the most northerly area of Scotland, in Caithness.
Sandstone slab walls like this are quite common in this area of Lancashire.
David, they “were” common in this area of Lancashire.
Quite possibly some of these stone slab walls may still be seen around Wigan or districts, because many years ago I had seen a lot of these stone slab walls which were separating the rear yards or the gardens of houses. Many of the walls had rusty iron staples or clamps holding the the slabs together with some leaning slightly, had been broken or eroding, but with them having been stood there through many years of rains and frosts of winters it's not surprising. If they ever were replaced with other types of walls or fences I don't know - maybe someone will know if any of them have survived.
