This is just a guess but when I was at school in the 1960s I had a friend in Platt Bridge whose Mum was a lovely lady with a very sweet and kind face, and the lady seated second left reminds me of her very much, (although she would obviously have been much younger on the photo). Her name was Gertrude (Gertie) Burke and her maiden name was Eddleston. and the family attended The Holy Family Church. I'm not saying it's her but someone from Platt Bridge or Abram may know.
There used to be a great many choral and amateur dramatics societies associated with churches in those days, it would appear not anymore.
My mother is on this photo back row third in from the left. She was Kitty Gaskell nee McHugh. formerly land lady Platt Bridge Inn.
Geoff Gaskell, I remember Kitty at The Platt Bridge Inn and was in with my parents on the night she and Jimmy retired; Jimmy gave a lovely speech and my Mam was in tears! I later worked there for Dick and Lilian Seddon. I wonder if you remember the Mrs. Burke I mentioned in my above comment? She lived in the rooms behind and above Webster's Butchers, (Mr. Webster had the front room as his shop). Her daughter, who I was at Hindley Grammar School with, was called Julia.
