Peel Hall is on there as well, over to the left. They aren't far from each other.

Just separated by the canal Irene. They must have been grand manor houses, with coal on one side and a brewery was soon to be built on the other.
Nothing left now but I see a footbridge crosses the canal at Peel Bridge.

What date is this map please? I have a copy of the 1840s one somewhere but I think this is later. Some of my ancestors lived in Careless Lane in the 1800s.
