If they don't finish the "new" restoration then it will soon look like it was in the 80's
my dad,jim Kershaw senior owned the mobil petrol station on this very site in the late sixties, does anyone remember buying their fuel from here? He also had the mobil garage at Newtown,called Newtown service station.

I was born in 1944 and I got petrol from there regularly from 1962 after I passed my driving test I lived at 38 York Street East then which was at the bottom of Great George St But all the houses are gone now. I left there when I got married in 1966.
What a lovely photo to bring back good memories.
I was born in Miry Lane in 1947, Looking at that takes me back there. It looks unkept but it was wonderful. everyone seemed so relaxed and happy and FRIENDLY. Not much money, but that wasn't the issue, we were just Happy. Oh how I miss it.
