Many is the time that I would wait for a bus outside The Old Springs after rugby training at John Rigby. Frank Balmer could time it so that the bus was always caught?

Is the Old Spring's still open? I believe the Miner's Arm's on City Road closed it's doors last year, but I have heard it may be re-opening soon?

Hi CJAlan, The Old Springs at Kitt Green was demolished a few years
ago, and several new houses are now on the site. It was a great pub
to visit back in the 1970s & 1980s. From memory, the pub manager
was Dennis, who in later days operated the newsagent shop on
Norley Hall Avenue. This shop eventually became the Co-op, and is
now a branch of McColls.

Ray I think you are getting mixed up with the OLD ENGINE pub.

It's still there looking exactly the same. The Old Engine has been demolished
