There used to be what looked like an old telegraph pole chained on the left of the bridge that us swimmers could sit on.
Got to be said Shevington is such a lovely area.

The old Navigation is in a bit of a sorry state these days. for those who don't live around here anymore, the pub was latterly a good Indian restaurant called the Baby Elephant, but it's been closed for a few years now, and has been left to decay. Pity, because with its canalside spot, big car park and lovely architecture I'm sure someone with a good business brain could transform the place...

The navigation is not in Shevington it is Gathurst
