Wind and rain go through me now , to whistle songs of gone ,
and no one else will tender me , ask or worry , least not see ,
that I was once , but now but be , a cherished book forgot..
most of wigan and districts old halls went the same way
I read a while ago that Wigan was on a list of having the most ' at risk' buildings. So much history lost over time &. consigned to a heap of rubble.
It wasn't demolished it sank!
It was demolished Geoff!
My Dad remembered this old building, he was born in the early 1930's and lived in the area.
It was demolished only after it had sunk to the upper storey
