A gutsy - if not slightly laboured - effort for my part, I feel - just one painting, in twelve months, will never do.
Philip G: Your painting is very very good, I like the details of the grass and hedgerows.
And that sky, pretty close to Turner, or Renoir.
Phillip G..your painting is just beautiful..I almost feel like I'm there.
Beautiful Philip, a perfect watercolour...and may I say nicer than the original, watercolour enhances it!
Thats very good i would be very happy if i had painted it.
A superb work Philip. Very beautiful . I recognised it instantly without reference to the photo. I shall see the lane now in a different and pleasanter light each time I walk it. My best regards and compliments to a true artist and Poet.
What's the 'white line' to the right, on the horizon, Dave? … perhaps a factory, a row of caravans … .
Thanks, Maureen and Veronica. The Waterford 300lb Not proved to be a bit of a guzzler - Arches version next time. Take care, both of you … you un aw John.
Brilliant water colour Philip
Well done, lad👨🏻‍🎨
Pip , The ' white line ', is the assembly of buildings around Glover's farm.
Hope Dave ( for we are many ) isn't too confused!
My thanks to Poet and to 'Dave'.
Agree Philip, 300 lb Arches is the winner! It's whatever you get used to..
That's lovely. Philip. I wasn't on the computer yesterday as we were out all day so only just seen this. Well done!
I would have left out the road sigh and the telepole, and put a bit more paint in your water
My thanks to Irene, Mick and Gio'. Couldn't leave out the pole and its guiding cable, Mick. And, as the speed limit had given me the first inkling of how wide the track really is, I just had to have it there.
That could cause accidents Mick! ;o))
Quote by MICK on his own PAD yesterday.
''I never criticise other peoples PAD's, I just leave genuine honest comments''.
Philip has painted the subject 'as seen', not as Mick would have liked. Mick, I wouldn't trust you painting a blank wall.
Or the inside of the outside 'petty'....with whitewash!
Mick, you can't erase things you don't like in this world or in a painting.
I like it very much just as it is, I would hang it on any of my house walls & look at it every day....
Jonno it is just a genuine honest comment, by commenting in this way it show that I have actually had a proper look and studied Philips painting
surely the colours depend on what time of day it was painted, whether the sun was out, was it a bright day or a dull day and what season it was when painted.
The gifts of all types of artt, whether it be painting, music, sculpture etc, are to be cherished.
Like Bere Heath, to Gallows Hill far,
a timeless captured with brush and a jar,
a swish of the paint a stroke of the brush,
a gaze into distance a calm without fuss.
The noise overhead is not meant for me,
just birds in a squabble as far as I can see,
the breeze it is simple, not cold to upset,
my painting comes on , but not finished...yet..
Now for a coffee, my flask an old mate,
the signpost says movement, but for now it can wait..
Albert this sort of art is done by camera tricks
Your poem is very good FW, and it's in a fitting, darting 'dib-dab' metre - a red dib here and a blue dab there, if you like. Albert's right, too.
Very good.
Thanks John.
