A 'turning bar' with a wooden shaft! That's quite a snazzy tool, lad. I'd made a couple of 'the working ends' with a 'gas axe' back in the day, welding a bit of rusty steel pipe to each, as a shaft. Good photo.
Was John Evans the foreman plater at mabeys about that time period?

I've only just stumbled upon this picture again after 18 months or so. Try the name Alan Hayes did he do a stint as a foreman at mabys? I worked with both John Evans and Alan at Newtown boilers back in the 1980s , and they both layed claim to the title of foreman plater at mabys.
