What a cherubic child Albert, dressed in Sunday Best as well?

Good head of hair Albert you would not have got your helmet on then.

The summer of 37, was it, Albert. There must have been something in the stars, as Mid-day Sun had won the Blue Riband of the English turf (Epsom Derby) that same year.

Phillip G. Phillip. My dad could have laid a bet on it. He enjoyed putting a bet on with the street bookie.

Looks like some Orange Lodge marchers in the background, probably stirring up trouble in Scholes. The thirties had its fair share of violence, make no mistake about it. And even in Wigan, amongst the masses of unemployed, things would escalate. The Old Bill had their hands full, even then. Fact.

Albert, I hope that your dad had also taken the 100/7. Take care.

They look like ' Peaky Blinders' to me - I find them violent an' all.
Razor blades in their caps!

Haven’t a clue who they could have been, Jarvo/Veronica. Seems that they are all dressed, to have been to a funeral.

Mind you Albert if you were dressed in 'Sunday Best' it wouldn't have been a funeral. Although it does look like a funeral party having had their refreshments at the cafe,so would it have been on a weekday and you in your best togs?! Puzzles and conundrums....doubt whether we will ever know. That is what is so fascinating looking back and wondering .....
