Note that there is no house to the right of the pic. The chapel was a breakaway from the one in Albert Street which is now a ladies Gym.The churches of Christ were founded by Alexander Campbell after his visit to the USA. The first one in the Wigan area was Rodney Street, founded by Timothy Coop the garment manufacturer. I think that this was built in 1841. There were others at Beech Hill, Jackson's Square, Hindley and Earlestown.
