built at same time as a number of 'estate' pubs - The Stork, Crooked Wheel, The Norley ...now all gone....but 'The Boot' has stood the test of time....just!

As you say, renowned rugby pub, but, probably like many others who live out of town i haven't been in since the DW opened, is it a Sams Bar now Malc?

You'll find out that most pubs with survive in busy areas like ie Wigan town, Ashton and Leigh to name a few.
But who want's to go out these days with loud TVs all over the walls in every room. Not me!
