Classic Dead line-up with 'Pigpen' on keyboards. We had long abandoned Bickershaw when the Dead came on (Sunday evening) through lack of food and the misery of the lousy weather. This photograph is proof that many stayed to watch them. According to reports, we missed out as they did a three hour plus set that was pitch perfect. This brings back memories of woodsmoke, cigarettes, and hunger. But at seventeen years old, it was hard to fast in those days...
