As kids we luvved these buses. On roller skates, we would grab hold of the pole on the boarding platform and get taken for a free ride. Mind you the conductor would smack your knuckles with his change bag!! LOL
If you enlarge the photo it shows the number 12.
the bus number was 12 I would catch this bus when I lived in lower ince
Oh! the memories of traveling on the No 12. Getting off at the stop near the Police Station in Spring View. Loved those old buses.
The terminus was at Crankwood Road at the bottom of Abram.
Turned round at Dover Lock.See the man on right with old Gas Mask Bag have his Butties & Billy Can or Flask in it on his way Work .Used one myself for years.
In this photo the buildings look to be in good condition.
They were just left to become derelict.
At least it seems to be a fine sunny day.
