Wigan Album

I used to like going along Wallgate, it always seemed so colourful and busy, now it's just noisy and bleak.

Shame the picture isn't a bit clearer, but good nontheless.

Does anyone remember Norman's fish & chip shop?

on the right hand side towards Wigan Pier near the lamp would have been Houghtons/Seals grocers shop, next door Meadows dress shop, Sherringtons Iron Mongers, Prices cake shop, The Cinema which was converted as a sewing factory for Marks & Spencers, behind Houghtons shop was Wigan Boys Club, Mellings cobblers & Ashcrofts grocers were nearer to Wigan Pier on the right not forgetting some great fish & chip shops.

This appears to be a still from a cinefilm judging by the lines and grain visible. If so do you have the film footage of this?.

I don't know, if this was taken from a film that I will be showing at the Heritage week end at the Parish Church 26th and 27th April?
