Designed Giles Gilbert Scott who also designed The Cenotaph on Whitehall in London.

wonder wether those two ladies where broken hearted reading their loved ones names,the cenotaph must have been nearly new when this picture was taken

The Cenotaph was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens.

Taken at some time between the unveiling of the Memorial in October 1925 and the replacement of the stone tablets bearing the names of the 1800 fallen with cast bronze plaques in about 1930 (at a cost of £8 per plaque).
