Nothing at all to do with WIGAN!
Garry - for your information, Dalton, where this farm is located, came under the Wigan area for many administrative purposes. The picture therefore has a good deal to do with this site - as much as pictures of other outlying areas do.
Why not take your ill judged, ill mannered, puerile comments elsewhere? We don't need them on here.
Have a drink of water, Tom. Still has nowt do with wigan, I'm just laying down the facts. St Helens used to come under Lancashire, now its Mersyside...lets keep Wigan..WIGAN.
For the Township of Wigan in Alphabetical order. Abram, Ashton, Aspull, Billinge, Blackrod, Dalton, Haigh, Hindley, Ince, Orrell, Parbold, Pemberton, Shevington, Standish, Upholland, Winstanley, Worthington and Wrightington.
Around 1974, Wigan Corporation became Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council, it was the time when all the local buses merged into one...Greater Manchester Transport...ie Leigh became part of Wigan. I for one, would be proud to have Parbold and Dalton part of Wigan, lovely places.
Dalton was part of Wigan Parish up until 1872 when the Parish church of Dalton was opened. Some of my Dalton
ancestors were married at the mother church of Wigan All Saints. http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/images/Lancashire.jpg
