Behind the bar at the Wellfield Hotel in the early 1960's. Christmas time was usually unbelievably busy but we seem to have a lull in proceedings here, left to right Mr & Mrs Bowen, Mrs Mason, Mr and Mrs Roper, Arthur ?, and on the other side of the bar Mr Mason.
This photo was taken at the Buffet end of the pub and is I believe still used as the main bar area in what is now known as Sam's Bar. The "other end" of the bar served the Vault and another room, a total of 5 large rooms, an outdoor and a busy hall area all made for a very lively pub when it was full.

Quite sure of the date Carol, I took the photo and I know of other events that definitely place it in the early 60's.

Farrie50, sometimes people have to have a "go". Often responding by saying it was meant as a" joke", others will say they are big on negativity - take your choice, it can be taken both ways.
