I am guessing Wood is your married name.. Is your Wood connection from Wigan if I may ask, mine is from Wigan ex-Scotland, but such a common name. Cheers.

Looked on all the old maps can't find a Buckley Terrace around the Buckley Street area where I thought it may be.? I've a feeling that it is the name of the row of houses and not the street name?

It's the long row of houses that presently commence at 217 Barnsley Street.

Hi Ron, I've looked at "Wigan Streets" on wonderful wiganworld and there is a "Buckley Terrace" off Gidlow Lane in 1890 - if you go down Beech Hall Street, from Gidlow Lane (I used google maps since I'm in the Midlands) turning left at the bottom, (the only choice), I believe the houses on the right, starting with number 217 are the ones in question. They are in Barnsley Street - looks as if you were right - it's the name for a block of Terrace houses probably the only ones there at the time of the photo.

Thank's for all the research, I have replied on the then and now photo. sheryl b, you are right, Wood is my married name, but my family tree research shows that my Husbands Wood's go back to Manchester,Derby etc. So at the moment my only Scottish connections are in my own side.
