Like I said before Phil only thing I saw down there was some old brickwork and dumped rolls of damaged lino.

Yes Mick it is strange that this Oil & Varnish factory/works was there for such a short period of time before being demolished and used as a dump. I can't find any info on it on the web, I wonder if anyone on here has any recolections or even worked in this factory?

this factory must have been working into the seventys and along with the pipe bridge over the canal that conected it to the lino works the tip was further down the cut bank and then they proably used all the rubish from the lino works to fill the hole afterwards
