1897 OS map clearly shows the situation of the Low Hall Colliery at Platt Bridge. Interesting to see a railway line crossing Liverpool Road at the side of the Primitive Mwethodist Church

Just had a look at the 1908 map Arthur. The line crossing the road had by this time been removed and Hart St was now in it's place.
Not really sure but the line could have gone to a Landsale Yard at the side of the Chapel.

Were these buildings, the buildings that were taken over to be used as a base, for the training of potential underground miners'? I was there in the Spring of 1950,and they seemed very old buildings then.

During the war I was in the Army Cadet Force Platt Bridge Company. We used to parade and train on the site of the old pit every Sunday I often wonder if any of the other lads are still around ?
