Hindley Urban District Council's Civic Sunday Parade. Led by a Brass Band, members & officials of the Council return to Hindley after a Civic Sunday Church Parade. In the distance are the terraced houses (now demolished) which included Mrs. Kelly's corner shop and Lymn Street and the also demolished Low Hall Inn, kept by a Mr Bunney in the 1940s.

I lived next door to the Low Hall Inn from 1964 until getting married in 1984.

Would that be the same Mr. Bunney who was the barber in the 50,s at Walthew Lane, used to charge us a tanner for a crop and that included brylcream.

John the barber on Walthew Lane was Arthur Bunney, probably the brother of the landlord of the Low Hall.

I think I am the first St Johns Ambulance man, and that would be Tony Simm Behind me. We would be 19. You moved up from the Cadets at 18.
