LUT bus on Liverpool Road, Platt Bridge. The laundrette in the background used to be the old co-op.
18 March 1975.

Used to do my grandma's shopping at the co-op, what a great store - a mini Tesco in it's day, but better quality.

As we only moved to Platt Bridge in 1971 I don't remember the co-op, but I have done washing here on a few occasions. I remember the LUT buses and the depot.

I moved to Platt Bridge from the south in 1976. I remember using this launderette when I first moved here as I didn't have a washing machine! I moved back to the south 5 years ago but 2 of my children still live in Platt Bridge. What a brilliant friendly place I found it to be back then, my only problem was understanding the accent and everyone had the same problem with me at that time. I have very fond memories of living here. These photos are brilliant, I have so enjoyed looking at them all.

I remember the launderette fondly. My twin sister and I used to go there at dinner times from St Natts and eat our packed lunch with our Mam who I think used to work there.

HI, does anyone remember when the laundrette closed down? i used to go there but can't remember when it shut.

I spent many an hour in that launderette doing the washing for my mum. We used to have the chippy across the road :) and my auntie Barbara used to run the temperance bar near to the King Billy.
