I remember Billy Higsons Barbers. It was also a Funeral Directors which I thought was a strange combination.
When I knew it, it was closed. I did know the son, Billy, he was one of the young ones who went to Zion Methjodist Chapel. I have many happy memories of that period.
Is this where Barry's motorcycle shop was in the 1960's?
Never knew this as a Barbers, I used to go to Jimmy Meeks, then I went to Arthur Bunneys,I think the shop was owned by Eddie Phillips, his son Howard was in my class at St.Nats,he left in 1954 and went to live in Australia.
I remember Jimmy Meeks it was just up the road from our house 572 Liverpool Rd if my memory serves me well....I hated having my hair cut..still do..and once while in there with my Dad there was a power cut so I spied my chance and legged it...ha ha I was about 5.....
