The quality is poor, I know, but it is as good as I can get. These are still frames extracted from cine film over sixty years old. I hope the interest value will outweigh the poor reproduction.
ah dk how wonderful to see these pics i remember those shops do you have some cine film of belle green lane etc i will scream if you have ?
There appears to be a bus stop outside this shop.. Was it Alices shop?
The shop is Alice's and the bus stop was in front of the shop i don't remember a shop just left of Alice's.Left of this picture is Russell street and the chippy was on the corner. To the right was Amy Mulvey's shop and then the cloggers.
I was mixed up about the shop to the left. But, I'm still sure about a corner shop somewhere on that side. When the houses were knocked down the bus stop got shunted downhill to the corner of Kendal Road.
There was another shop on the sameside near to the railway crossing owned by a lady who had a son named Granville cant think of the Surname though
Blddy 'ell Gerry. How many more shops was there? Can someone do a diagram. I remember chippies best - chips and pea wet. I'm having that for me tea tomorrow neet!
Maybe half a fish if I'm a good lad!
I think now that the shop with Granville in it was a hairdressers
