The Bakery was at Simms Lane End my first job £2-50 a week on the Bread van 1958 it was known as Baker Jacks then (John Hurst) Ben Whittle must have been the previous owner. Keith do you remember Alan Hurst he was in my class at school he was Jack Hurst son. He drowned on Southport marshes two or three weeks after leaving School age 15 shooting wild foul when the tide cut them off. you could say for my first job I walked into dead man's shoes, the only job I could get what I really wanted was to be an Electrician funny how things turn out spent the rest of my working life in Sales.
