my grandmother Ida Norcliffe owned the corset shop which was half way down on the right hand side directly opposite Boltons. then there was Liveseys tobacconists, Spencers grocers, Deans rag shop, Knights chemist and Miss Cookseys hardware shop. Ilived there until we were CPO'd in 1965.

One of the buildings on the right was Clarington Press owned by Colin Cooper. After demolition, they moved to what was once a pub at the side of the canal at Ince. It sandwiched between the canal and a church
