an A J Evans postcard used feb 1930, photo from around 1920. the building on the left at the end of garswood st (now lloyds tsb) was demolished and replaced soon after this photo was taken.

The horse and cart is coming up on the right hand side,was there no rules on that then.

I didnt think that Rushton's grocers was so spread around, but after doing a bit of googling, I have found that they were a going concern in 1890, was this the start of the supermarket chains around Lancashire at that time ??

The building opposite the horse an cart was the Billiard Hall and next to that going down hill was Lord Gerards Gentlemens Club
