Love this photo, had a cowboy suit like the lad at the front.Thought I was the Bees Knees, pity we don't have get togethers like this anymore.
I agree , I would say it's a May Queen. We used to dress up in fancy dress with the Queen resplendent in her Mam's lace curtain and a cardboard crow. We used to parade round the streets collecting pennies and then have a picnic-tea. Happy Days!
That should have read "cardboard CROWN"

I will be 54 may2nd Mrs Saybin who lived in colinge st she used to come an collect every friday to pay for our party after we,d walked our may queen the party was in the yards of colinge st because it was big enough and closed in i lived in Wilson st which backed onto Adlaide st.My friends were Margaret Molunou,,Molly Harris,Susan Towers, I hope this helps
