So did I! I remember them saying when they were doing it up they broke down a wall upstairs and found a door had been boarded up. Behind was the restaurant when it was the Berni Inn and the salt and pepper's were still on the table's. How much of that is fluff I don't know. :o)
Blairs had some great bar staff. Great memories in the late 80's / early 90's.
Think it is meant to be haunted.
Is there a layout plan of this pub when the stable bar was there?
I've read in a book called haunted Wigan that yes it is haunted. I also heard it was built by a sea captain who served in the battle of Trafalgar hence the name Minorca.
P the Minorca was built at least 15 years before the Battle of Trafalgar.
It was known to be in existence if 1790. The licensee then was William Roper.
Maiden name Anderton, my twins own Andertons sports bar. My gt gt grandad Anderton met my gt gt step gran in The Minorca she lived and worked there. Name Annie Lynn/Lyon
