Great photo - steepness of slope (if it is Scholes) i would guess around the Clarington Grove area - Birket Street?
My Mam carried me in a shawl like this one, wrapped around herself with me tucked up inside; I never had a pram, but I still have the shawl.
I went to school in Scholes and lived in Birkett Bank, at a guess it looks similar to Gilroy or Belvoir Street.
could it be cambrdge st I lived there around that time
all the older women still used shawls
I am pretty certain a wider view of this shot has been posted before, but I am not sure which section. There was some discussion about the location then I think.
Found it... Under 'People'... Woman With Shawl, Item #: 10330
That is well spotted. Same woman, same street. But not the same picture.(Head and shoulder angle completely different). Still begs the question, what is her name ?
Well done Dennis. I spent around 2 hours trying to find the picture, which I remembered from last year. Still don't know who she is, but it is around St.Patrick's area.
