Henry Goulding runs a haulage business which has been in the family since 1904. His nephews and nieces are the sixth generation of Gouldings in the town. That stretch of canal towpath? It's Wigan Pier! - the name they gave it when coal boats used to be loaded there.

My family lived at 36,Pottery Road.In an emergency we used to use the telephone at Gouldings.
I remember playing in margarets back yard with my cousin Inez who lived over the road in merrick street. Margaret made us all dress up and put on a show.the good old days.did you make onto the stage?
