1980. I believe that the Fouracres came up from Somerset in the 18th Century. They kept an interesting accent that was a bit different from the locals.

My grandfather was manager at Rylands Mill. Mum and both my sisters knew Mill Cottage very well, but where on earth was Rylands Farm?

Ryland's Mill Farm is at Pony Dick, off Billinge Road at the junction of Pemberton and Winstanley.
