No Problem my Dad would only be laughing now.Best wishes Martin Pearce.
Josie used to sing a mean version of Elaine Pages "memory".
Martin, are you related you John(ny) Pearce?
No relation unless they were from the Bolton/Cornwall or Accrinton areas. The other side of my family are Alkers which are my local ties to the area. With quite a few pictures being entered as time allows.
I was looking at this photo again and remembered an interesting true event.Mid sixties a coach came down the hill and it was an icy morning, driven by a Mr Cayzer the coach lost control and ended up on the piece on the bottom right of the picture. The coach had slid side ways and ended up with it hanging over the wall with only its back wheels on the ground. Luckly it was empty apart from the driver. Just thought I would share that bit of a memory, and the bushes never grew back.
I remember on my driving lessons trying to come out of that corner, my hill starts were excellent tho! Been taking my daughter down the hill on her lessons now, quite un nerving the first time in a car... was terrifying on a chopper! I remember your dad took some photos of the idiots cutting the corner at the bottom of the hill, have you got them too?
Yes Barbara will put some on soon, I also remember coming down this hill on my bike and the front brakes broke on the center bolt and it came up and hit me between the eyes making me fall off my seat onto the cross bar...how I stayed on all the way down the hill and missed the raillings I will never know. Bad lucky memory.
