Hello Janet,
I think you have just confirmed the Lomax link to Ashton on my family tree! It goes back a very long way, but great to see Lomax's still residing in Ashton. Park Lane was one in particular.
Cheers.
Hello Andrew, I have seen your name on WW before. My Dads grandparents, my grandparents, aunts and uncles and my Dad and his sister all lived at Park Lane( Cox Lump) and all were members of Park Lane Chapel and school.. If any of this info sounds right to you give me your email and we can get in touch..

Thanks.
Hi Janet, we were at AGS together and found out we were related, Mary Ann Lomax nee Bithill was my grandfather's sister, remember my mums cousin Henry Lomax cycling to our house for tea, always brought his own in his saddle bag, was the first vegetarian I had met, hope you are keeping well, if interested I have the family tree.
My mum worked in a shop, in Haydock, from being 14 years old until she was about 30.
The owner of the shop was Mr.Shaw. He was related to the Lomaxes from Bryn. My dad, who was a joiner, used to do repairs on a row of houses up there near Derbyshire Farm and I'm sure Mr. Lomax and Mr.Shaw owned them?
This would be in the late 50's.
Does the names Shaw and maybe Hindley appear in your family history?
And Unsworth?
John Walsh's best mate... Sorry for the delay, pc problems.. I've gone through all the papers I have and don't see any of the names you mentioned...
I know this may just be a stab in the dark, but I'm wondering if there is a family conection. My grandma was Maud Lomax & her father was Peter Lomax, son of Henry Lomax and Mary Barton from Ashton. Can anyone please tell me if there is a connection? Thank you
Yes Shirl, there is a connection.. Your Great Grandad Peter was the brother of my Great Grandad Henry Lomax.
