The Wellfield Hotel, one Christmas in the 1960's showing some customers drinking at the Vault end of the pub. Amongst them are Frank Daley, ex-Leigh and Oldham RL player, once voted Rugby League's "man of steel" who is third in from the right, on the extreme right is Benny? Joynt and to the left of Frank is Edmund Joynt.

Man on the extreme right of photo is Jimmy Joynt, father of St Helens R.L.forward Chris Joynt.

I was very interested to hear that Brian (I served Jimmy many times in the Wellfield) but since I left Wigan in 1967 I have lost touch. I'd seen Chris Joynt many times on tv playing for Saints (I live in the Midlands) but I'd no idea he was Jimmy's son. There were many customers with the Joynt surname who frequented the Wellfield but I was never sure whether they were brothers, cousins etc., thank you also for correcting his first name.
