The view up Appley Lane South, taken from the canal bridge. Notice the lack of houses on the left in the new photo and tree line on the hill in the background remains almost un-changed.
I have used a photo from this site and then taken another photo(earlier this evening)from a similar spot to where the original was taken from, so the two can be compared.

The top photo contains the "mysterious" ghost boy! At first glance I thought it was just a boy but on closer examination . . . what do you think ? :)

I've been intrigued by that picyure for a long time, but I call it the pixie.I have discussed it at length on another forum. I grew up in (old) Appley Bridge and it is indeed a place of enchantment so who knows what it is? The date is approx. 1900.

Ian your mysterious ghost boy just looks like a little lad sat down having a rest to me you can see his dad stood on the other side of the road as well.

Hi Mick, I'm not from Appley Bridge originally, I'm from another little village, a bit further out...Mawdesley and my maiden name before getting married was also....Mawdsley!!!!
