What a wonderful photo and memory. It seems to me that every street in the 40's would have at least one accordion player, the other striking feature is the number of women in this photo and the sheer number of people in such a small area.
The girl playing the accordian is my Mum Doris Wood (Heyes),and I think one of the two girls on the pavement on the right is my auntie Maud.
was ALBERT STREET near FRANCIS STREET or YORK STREET
Jenny,
as you look down the street and turn right it is Bridgewater st. The Oddfellows(Pingy) pub is just round the corner as well. The next street is Rose street, then Rose bridge methodist church and junior school (my old church and school) The girl playing the accordian, my mum, had a funeral service from there Jan 96.
