Photographed in the early 1960s.-- Bridge St. and Rayner Park can be seen between the buildings. The garages on the left were occupied by the Credit Draper's store in Bridge St. (can't recall the name). Borsdane Brook ran to the rear of the garages.

Thro' the gap between the buildings is Bridge Street, across the road and a little to the left was the junction to Danes Avenue.

These bring back childhood memories from the late 40s and 1950s, Arthur. I think the credit drapers you refer to was Ellis Woods. On the other side of Bridge Street there were some really old cottages, and nearby was Ellison's Ice Cream.

Not disputing that this area is called Brookside Place it sounds nicer and makes sense where it is.But if you look in the 1925 Hindley street directory it is called Back Bridge Steet.

This was Back Bridge st. in the 1950s and the garages on the left was a row of houses.
