Veronica, this picture has appeared before but it is still very interesting. If it is Millgate the gradient of the road and pavement would indicate near the bottom, perhaps where the baths were built, or even further down Millgate near the junction of Chapel Lane opposite where The Horseshoe pub would be built and lower down from The Douglas Tavern on the corner of Douglas Street. Just speculation.

I usually check Colin but forgot this time. This is a bit brighter and lighter as I ‘edited’ it though.
