Bottom of Birkett Bank with the Ordnance Survey Man and his board. Opposite. on the other side of the road, where the advertising placards are, is the site of Clarington Forge, on the bend where Manchester Road, Higher Ince joins Darlington Street East, Wigan.

I have to say it Ozy ..this photo has been posted befooer.
The big golden ‘Alas’ statue was over the road deep in thought and showing nearly everything he had. Probably wondering where ‘Jack Tomorrow’s’ shop used to be.
