This old map showb the relative position of the old cottages near the bridge. The cottages have appeared before as Butterfly hall and Tumbledown cottages. The tumbledown cottages were on the canal bank.

The tumbledown cottages your comment shows are pendlebury row on the map. There is also a photograph of the cottage opposite and it is named Butterfly Hall Sennicar Lane but is in fact Pendlebury Cottage Pendlebury Lane. I lived there in 1947.
Pendlebury Row was actually on the canal bank .as you walked over the bridge , the foundation would have been in the field , Butterfly Hall was right cross the road on Pendlebury Road .

Just noticed the canal is named as the LANCASTER CANAL? What date is the map?
